报告摘要:
The recent research efforts in the speaker’s research group to develop advanced flow diagnostic techniques to study complex thermal fluid phenomena will be reviewed briefly in this talk. the speaker’s research work in recent years has been focused in two primary areas: 1). to develop advanced flow diagnostic techniques and instrumentation, which include Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF), Pressure Sensitive Paint (PSP), Temperature Sensitive Paint (TSP), Molecular Tagging Velocimetry (MTV), Molecular Tagging Thermometry (MTT), Quantum-Dots (QDs) Imaging Thermometry, and Digital Image Projection (DIP) Techniques; and 2). to conduct fundamental studies to solve challenging problems in the fields of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics and heat transfer, which include wind energy and wind turbine aeromechanics; aircraft icing physics and anti-/de-icing technology; film cooling, trailing edge cooling and thermal management of gas turbines; unsteady aerodynamics and bio-inspired aerodynamic designs for Unmanned-air-vehicle (UAV) applications; micro-flows and micro-scale heat transfer in microfluidics or “Lab-on-a-Chip” devices; fluid-structure interactions of built structures in violent winds such as tornados, microbursts and snow storms.
